Paraiso Travel
Multiple Award Winner & The Year's Most Critically Acclaimed Latin Film!
Adapted from Jorge Franco's acclaimed novel of the same name, PARAISO TRAVEL (which has broken box office records in Colombia) is the story of Marlon Cruz (Aldemar Corea), a young Columbian man who, motivated by his girlfriend Reina (Angelica Blandon) leaves his comfortable life in Medellin and flees with her through Guatemala and Mexico, across the borders, illegally into the United States.  Marlon's journey, which takes him through seedy strip clubs, dance halls, homeless hostels, and the streets of Jackson Heights ultimately takes him to a place he could not have predicted.  Directed by Simon Brand with screenplay by Jorge Franco and Juan Rendon, PARAISO TRAVEL also stars John Leguizamo (Casualties of War, thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar, Spawn, Moulin Rouge, Assault On Precinct 13), Margarita Rosa de Francisco (Cafe - With an Aroma of a Women Int'l blockbuster soap, Fidel, Ilona llega con la Lluvia), and Ana de la Reguera (Nacho Libre, Asi del precipicio, Por la libre, Ladie's Night, MTV Latin Movie Awards Favorite Actress).

Osso Bucco
It's Not Just About The Veal!
The entire story happens on the night of the worst snowstorm in the history of Chicago. Jelly Dinotto (Mike Starr: Dumb & Dumber, Goodfellas, The Black Dahlia), a large, lovable and misfit mobster, is given his marching orders to return to Italy where, unbeknownst to him, his cousin Nick is planning on having him killed.  Desperate to have one more veal ossobucco before he leaves town, Jelly drags Nick to Vesuvios restaurant. As the snow falls, Jelly and Nick become trapped inside the restaurant along with two underachieving, anal-retentive Chicago detectives and the few, remaining restaurant employees.
Luckily for Jelly, Megan (Illeana Douglas: Goodfellas, Cape Fear, Stir Of Echoes, Law & Order), the earthy, compassionate waitress for whom he is carrying a huge torch, is one of those employees. Will Jelly find true love inside Vesuvios? Or will this ossobucco be his last?

Emilio
From The Executive Producer of Out of Africa
Emilio is the soulful tale of a young man (19 years) who leaves his village in Mexico looking for his kidnapped sister. His journey leads him to Los Angeles, where we see the city through the eyes of a penniless illegal immigrant on a desperate quest.

The City of Angels itself becomes in a sense the second character of this movie as Emilio's needle-in-a-haystack search takes him through the gritty contrasts of Skid Row, East L.A., Echo Park, Watts, Torrance, Venice Beach, Beverly Hills, and the West Hollywood hills. The panorama of characters he encounters include Mexican day laborers, drug dealers, transients, skateboarders, disco queens, actors, and upwardly mobile socialites constituting at once a searing social criticism and celebration of a city.

As it moves towards its inexorable conclusion, this coming of age story comes into its own above all as a heroic portrait of determination.

"Emilio" delivers an ENGROSSING and sometimes VIBRANT portrait of a naive Mexican kid's sink-or-swim encounter with the urban beast that is contempo Los Angeles.

The Rat Thing
An award winning (all festivals attended) comedy..
Two down and out friends living in Venice, California, struggle in social and economic deprivation.  They reach the point where they can't go on.  Escalating pressures force them to hatch a wild, get-rich-quick scheme in a last ditch attempt to solve "all of their problems".  What transpires is a perfect example of "the best laid plans of mice and men" where reality trumps delusion and, in one comic turn after another, depravity gives way to humanity.  No wonder this comedy has delighted audiences winning awards in all of six of the festivals in which it appeared!

100 Feet
Her husband is dead and he's taking the news badly!
A young woman, Marnie Watson (Famke Janssen: Xmen, Hide & Seek, Nip/Tuck), is granted early release from her prison sentence for manslaughter (killing her husband - a violent NYC cop - in self defense) on condition she wear an electronic bracelet and remain within her home, effectively under house arrest, for the remainder of her sentence.  Her late husband's partner (Bobby Cannavale: Third Watch, Fast Food Nation, Snakes on a Plane, Will & Grace) keeps tabs on her from a patrol car parked across the street, hoping she'll violate probation and he can send her back to prison.   But the 100-foot radius her ankle bracelet allows isn't the worst of her problems.  Her dead husband - now a malevolent ghost - is still in the house, where he died - intent on savage revenge.  Written and Directed by Eric Red (The Hitcher, Near Dark, Blue Steel).

Feast of the Assumption

Feast of the Assumption:
The Otero Family Murders

Charlie Otero was as happy as any 15 year-old boy growing up, until he came home from school on January 15, 1974. He entered his house and found four members of his family murdered in their Wichita home. Thirty years would pass before the truth would reveal itself in the form of three initials: BTK

The film chronicles the beginning of the end of the BTK Strangler mystery, as it is told through the eyes of Charlie Otero.  It mixes a survivor’s search for truth and redemption with real-time, unraveling events surrounding the resurfacing, arrest and sentencing of the man who murdered four members of Charlie’s family and became one of the highest profile serial killers of our time.
